Speakers
"Teaching Kids - How We Can Get Girls Involved in Technology" - in this talk, Lynn will share what she and her team have learned as they've developed a global (volunteer) organization. At "Teaching Kids Programming", hundreds of volunteers (from the US and 15 foreign countries) now teach children to build using hands-on technologies such as Microsoft Kodu, LEGO Mindstorms, Microsoft SmallBasic and SQL Azure. Join Lynn to hear about best practices you can use to get started finding and working with technical volunteers in order to guide the path for the next generation. She will also talk about the specifics of working to integrate with national school systems as well as national technical organizations, such as the Agile Alliance (US), the Computer Science Teachers National Association (US) and ICT organizations (Belgium, Denmark, South Africa).
